Went there on a Saturday afternoon, had a blast. Live band, crawfish boil, beer garden, chicken poop bingo. Couldn't ask for a Bette crowd

My favorite bar in the WORLD! Maybe I'm biased. I love the owner, the patrons, the food, and the booze...Only a fool wouldn't. This is the bar people sing about. Everyone is welcome and everyone shows up. It could be a Sunday slam packed with motorcycles on a poker run, Saturday when party buses roll through to see the Historic Blue Room and write their names on the wall, or a Wednesday pool league night, either way.....your gonna have a good time, a great drink, and a fantastic meal made of local ingredients and fresh meat. Tammy has owned the place forever and keeps an old photograph behind the bar from the days of the 1800's when Abraham Lincoln himself is said to have stayed here when it was a hostel, it's worth asking about.

As the sign outside says, it IS an adventure! I have been hearing about this place for years from local friends and have been wanting to check it out... I was not disappointed. I chatted with the owner, Tammy, who explained this building was built in 1840. She showed me a photo behind the bar of the same building from 1903. This place is "falling apart," as previous reviewers mentioned, because it is full of history. I dont believe there is a right angle in the building, which added to the charm and the walls are signed everywhere by previous visitors. The place is small, but everyone is friendly and you'll never have to wait long for a drink. The kitchen has a menu of your typical bar food. The bar itself has gaming slots, internet jukebox, and a pool table although the signatures all over the wall provides a ton of entertainment. Truly a gem of a dive bar. I would definitely come back.
